A difficult race to unpick with many of these having something to prove, so only a tentative vote can go to CASUAL ENCOUNTER. Andrew Balding's filly has made little impact in her three starts so far but she's a half-sister to City Spirit, who won over an extended 1m3f for these connections, and it is interesting that they opt for a classified contest over handicaps. The saddle slipped on Drouthy Neebor when having to be pulled up at Wolverhampton (sent off favourite) recently and could be worth another chance, while Jack Langley is also noted. |
DROUTHY NEEBOR remains a maiden but he had been showing a consistent level of form until last time where something was amiss. His best recent efforts are on polytrack and he's entitled to be thereabouts if getting a stiff test down in trip. Veteran Foinix is on a long losing run but takes a big drop in grade and he's feared most ahead of Fen Tiger who went too fast on his reappearance but is well treated on these terms on his autumn middle distance form. |
