Having justified favouritism over C&D last month, Mr Jetman warrants respect in his follow-up bid. However, a 5lb higher mark and rise in class could prove the five-year-old's undoing and preference is for CODE PURPLE. Ben Haslam has his string in good order at present and his Ribchester gelding makes plenty of appeal on the back of a good second at Musselburgh. Poet's Dawn and Jez Bomb are also of interest. |
Poet's Dawn has been going pretty well of late and got within a length last time back at a mile. He looks poised to go close again with nothing to fear from any rain over a course he's gone close over before but he may have to settle for minor honours behind ASTRONOMICA who got very comeptitive in three turf handicaps to end last season and could gain a first victory since July 2023. She won off a similar layoff that year and a chance is taken she can strike again now there's a bit of ease in ground (flopped on fast ground on season bow last term), with any further rain probably enhancing prospects. The are doubts over some of the other key protoganists like Mr Jetman, up in grade, Saisons D'Or, still to prove stamina at this trip and Northbound, needs to bounce back from a poor run last time so Overlooked may be a bit of value to make the frame ahead of those now returned to turf |

Probably needed race beaten 4l off 62 over 7f at Chelmsford last time looking bit tapped for toe; up in trip a plus; at least as effective on turf; close to finding level, threat back on turf |

Well backed when landing a handicap by 1 1/4l off 54 over CD last time; up in grade but capable of getting in the mix again |
