Percy Shelley returns from a break refreshed and appeals as being on a fair mark for this handicapd debut, but GRAND CONQUEROR might still have some juice in his mark given the way he travels and a first-time hood could help him conserve energy for the latter stages. Although failing in his hat-trick bid at Kempton last time, he moved through the race like a horse with much more to offer and his capable rider's 3lb claim is a help here. High Fibre is in form himself but his new mark has kicked in now, so more will be required, and he's perhaps not open to as much improvement as the selection. Kel Du Large, who is fitted with first-time cheekpieces, is another to consider given his good recent form, although whether the ground is soft enough remains to be seen. |
