Although yet to get his head in front on turf, the Ado McGuinness-trained CLONMACASH boasts every chance. An improved performer on the all-weather this winter, the gelding has shown promise on his most recent starts since returning to the grass. A strongly-run race over this trip in a big field looks ideal for the son of Charming Thought. Verhoyen should appreciate dropping back to his optimum distance and Zaraahmando is also worthy of consideration. |
An open race where it may be worth taking a chance with veteran VERHOYEN. He has been out of form since a C&D win last summer but he's now 15lb below the mark he won off that day and ran well to a point last time under an aggressive ride until his stamina gave way at 1m. Port Louis is another who will appreciate the drop back from 1m and he was in good form in the spring so holds each way claims. Clonmacash ran better than the figures suggest last time from a poor draw and having tumbled down the weights he is also of interest. |
