A well-bred sort by Lope De Vega, BURRITO always looked to be in control when holding off the reopposing Sovereign Sea (second) at Newbury last month and a 10lb rise may not get to the bottom of this four-year-old's ability. Denied by the narrowest of margins behind Liberty Coach (first) at Redcar last time out, See That Storm (second) may be able to overturn that form with a 1lb pull at the weights. Faylaq and Chester winner Paddy The Squire are capable of being in the shake-up as well. |
A high quality affair with plenty arriving in peak form and a few lurking on threatening marks if rediscovering their sparkle. The one to stand out is BURRITO who landed a competitive class 3 event to kick off this campaign last time on handicap bow. A 10lb rise for a narrow margin success may seem steep but the manner of the victory was impressive given how seetly he travelled and then picked up nicely when challenged late by Sovereign Sea (2lb better off for half a length) and was well in command at the line looking as if there was a fair bit left in the locker. The second then should go well again but will struggle to reverse placings off the slightly better terms. He still gets second choice. The progressive Sea That Strom can't be ignored given his extraordinary improvement continued despite defeat last time (by a nose) when just falling shy of recording a five-timer. However, a further four pound rise in this company will be hard to defy and Austrian Theory may offer a bit better value to hit the frame. He has to be excused a tame effort last time over course and distance but is prone to the odd blow-out and could get very competitve if replicating his first two runs this term. Zain Blue is another that merits consideration and has each way claims at a price |
