There is just as small question over him stepping down a furlong in trip and because of that preference is for the 2024 2000 Guineas winner NOTABLE SPEECH who has a brilliant turn of foot and might just have too much speed for the Gosden representative. He comes from the same yard as Opera Ballo who beat a lot of these fair and square in the bet365 Mile at Sandown and you'd have to think connections know the selection is good enough to beat all of those here. The big downside for Notable Speech is his penchant for finding trouble in-running as he comes from the back, something that has happened to him in two of his last four starts. A danger at a bit more of a price is More Thunder who is reverting to a slightly longer trip having initially been campaigned over 10f before switching to 6/7f. He always seems to have a massive amount to do late before finishing like a train and this extra furlong could play to his strengths. |
