With only Dumfries boasting any recent winning form, plenty needs to be taken on trust. The betting could provide some clues where the likes of Gherkin, Bibendum and Ajrad are concerned, while reverting to turf could assist Dashing Donkey. However, a chance is taken on the well-handicapped DEVASBOY. Running off 23lb lower than his last winning rating, it would be dangerous to allow the six-year-old to slip under the radar. |
A weak finale can go to DASHING DONKEY who returned to form on his AW reappearance and should come on for that outing. He's proven himself effective on a variety of surfaces and arrives just 1lb above his last winning mark so holds obvious claims. Winter AW winner Arjad is feared most as he was far from disgraced on his turf return despite a troubled passage. Devasboy has been a disappointing favourite recently and has a poor strike rate but his jockey booking suggests better is expected here. He could complete the places. |

Winter AW winner Arjad is feared most as he was far from disgraced on his turf return despite a troubled passage. Devasboy has been a disappointing favourite recently and has a poor strike rate but his jockey booking suggests better is expected here. He could complete the places. |

Appeared not to stay down the field in a handicap over 6f at Chelmsford most recent; usually held up; returning from a break; up in trip; bit to find off what looks stiff mark |
