NAPLES is interesting here dropping in trip on his second start. The Mehmas gelding was sent off a short price on his debut at Limerick and travelled well to the two furlong marker. He didn't appear to see out a mile that day and it's no surprise to see him trying this distance. Sun Soldier made a promising debut when chasing home Seattle at Navan. He met some traffic problems in the run before finishing second and is entitled to improve. Stella Alpina sets the standard with a rating of 77. |
SUN SOLDIER is the obvious choice here having finished runner up behind a useful rival on debut despite not getting a clear run. If the cheekpieces can deliver normal improvement he will be tough to beat. Naples was backed as if defeat was out of the question and didn't shape too badly on debut so looks the biggest challenger by some distance dropped in trip. Stella Alpina has proven inconsistent in her short career but she can complete the places if bringing her best form. |
