COLLECTING COIN can get off the mark at the third time of asking. The Jessica Harrington-trained gelding finished third on his racecourse debut at Cork back in April, before going down narrowly at the Curragh the following month. In a race where most of the leading contenders appear relatively exposed, the son of Lope De Vega looks one of few potential improvers. Unlucky in running at Limerick recently, Gran Habano should be competitive. Less than a length behind the selection at the Curragh, there is unlikely to be much between the pair again. Adieu Spirit is a newcomer worth keeping an eye on in the betting. |
COLLECTING COIN sets the standard on his pair of placed efforts and a replication of them would make him tough to beat. He will need to settle better but could find more if doing so and can defeat the steadily progressive Monkstown who could improve again in the first time blinkers. The experienced Chester Nimitz completes the list of dangers with the return to better ground a plus. |
